I. HOUNTALAS S.A. was founded in 2002 and is a continuation of I. HOUNTALAS G.P., which, with a continuous presence in the production of cement products since 1964, has specialized in the use of pumice (kishireos) for the production of lightweight building elements for the last 20 years.

A traditional family business with a modern orientation, it is now in its seventh decade of continuous operation, with the third generation of its people already participating in production, having studied in related fields.

The long-standing experience of the company’s executives and their specialization in the field, combined with the state-of-the-art mechanical equipment of the newly built facility, guarantee the quality and sufficiency of the manufactured products, which are distributed in most prefectures of the country and exported to Cyprus and Albania.

The collaboration of the production managers of I. HOUNTALAS S.A. with distinguished scientists in the field helps improve the properties of existing products and design new innovative building elements for masonry.

The properties of each new product, such as thermal conductivity, sound reduction, durability, etc., are tested in University and certified private research centers such as A.U.Th. – Research Committee, E.K.E.T., etc., which issue the corresponding certificates.

A recent example of the serious effort being made is the new generation of LAVAWALL PLUS and SUPER PLUS building elements with integrated polystyrene thermal insulation.
